Burning question on XP

Hey guys got a quick question:

This may be somewhat of a hardware question but I don't think so. I am plugging up an external dvd burning drive to my tablet toshiba via usb. I want to be able to burn files to a dvd by just dragging and dropping the files onto the DVD/CD drive and writing them. I can get as far as dropping the files onto the drive, then trying to use XP's default writing wizard to burn the files to the DVD. However, I always get an error saying that the CD is full or not usable... but I think the real problem is that this wizard writing program is for cd burning only rather than DVD too. Is this true? Is there some other default way of just dragging files onto the drive and burning them onto the DVD?

It looks like XP's native burning software is iffy when it comes to DVD burning. You may want to take a look at 3rd party burning software such as roxio and nero
