The good news this time is that the group that found the reported vulnerabilities has only reported their findings to MS. Beats letting the bad guys know where to look for an opening.

Funny.... I Google "Firefox Exploit" and come up with all kinds of stuff in the bulletproof browser.

They could put the "Best" security software on a computer and someone would eventually find a way to hack it. It doesn't matter what company it is, if you surf the internet on a daily basis just be prepared if an attack occurs because the odds that it could.

The best security software you can ever use is common sense...it's the best tool of prevention as well.

Yeah, but at least you don't have to worry about ActiveX.

SP2 IE doesn't have to worry about ActiveX either unless you allow it to activate. i say microsoft has already gone a long way to browser security.

But I wonder how long it will take to find a way around this, and to force ActiveX on users. IMO no activeX is better than even the tiniest bit of activeX.

It really shouldn't come as a surprise. Every single OS on the planet has vulnerabilities, and every OS to come will too. It's really up to the user to be safe.

I don't worry about active x... never had an issue either... and should I go to a "questionable site"... I click on AdSubtract which I have set to disable almost all the extras and no prob.

Yeah, HAL - and you aren't exactly a "casual" user either. You know what you are doing.

Which is why it irks me when people preach to me that I should switch to Firefox
