win xp reg info
a short while ago i read in the pc mechanic newsletter that there is a file that holds the activation info. i lost the info can anyone tell me what the file name is?

Windows\System32\wpa.dbl is the file that you can save for activation info. Mind you, this ONLY works if you have an activated copy of XP, with certain hardware, and you need to reinstall Windows on the SAME computer without changes to hardware. At every boot, a comparison is made between the booting system and the original hardware as stored on the WPA.DBL file.
