Windows XP SP 2 Won't let me uninstall IP software and Yahoo messenger HELP!!

Hi,I can't uninstall my IP, Rogers software for some reason?.It still leaves the Rogers Yahoo Applications Base Components left in my add/remove programs list??.I tried to uninstall it like 6 times like I was advised by the Rogers Tech's and I was unable to?.They claim it does this and I will not be able to uninstall the remaining part of the software?.They ran tests and claim it's windows a windows problem.They also claim nobody ever complains and that it will not interfere with anything.I do not AGREE due to the fact that now sice this problem I have tried to uninstall Yahoo Messenger 5.5 and it seemed to have been removed because it did not appear in add/remove programs or the programs list.BUT when I went back to the Yahoo site to re download Yahoo,it said after i clicked GET NOW that I already have the version of Yahoo on my machine??.But it never was in the list of my programs so I called the rogers Techs and they told me to go ahead and continue with the install,so I did.Now it still will NOT appear in my programs or the add/remove list just in my PROGRAM FILES??.I can now only Launch Yahoo messenger from my Logitech Pro 4000 software which I had problems with before?.But Now I also appear to have the NEWER version of Yahoo messenger 6.0 installed even though it does not appear in the add/remove program list??.So I am left with 2major problems,I can't uninstall my IP Rogers Yahoo software and now probably due to this issue I also can not seem to uninstall this new version of Yahoo messenger 6.0 due to it not appearing in add/remove or my programs it's only found in my program files?.And to top it off THIS NEWER version of messenger 6.0 is not working properly maybe due to the fact that it is all messed up on my machine because I can't pull up my Web cam or see the emoticons its hard to explain.I can only launch my Cam from the Quick Lauch feature in my Cam's software.So I am unsure if I should reinstall WINDOWS XP SP 2 fresh again or what??I am very new to computers so I would appreciate if somebody can give me some detailed information on what steps I should take to remove the 2 programs and reinstall them?. cuz I'm also unfirmiliar with uninstalling and reinstalling Windows safely?.

You could un-install SP2 temporarily and then uninstall the programs you want to remove and then re-install SP2. When possible always use the uninstall utility that is on most programs rather than the add-remove programs in the control panel. This will usually leave fewer orphan files laying around.
