XP - Simultaneous Network Connections?
I am going to use Miniportal from Instantservers.com to operate a home web server out of my home. I am going to run it on XP and found this little tid-bit about XP and XP pro:
>>>- Windows XP Professional : 10 simultaneous file-sharing connections ( same limitation as in Windows NT4 workstation and Windows 2000 Professional ) - Windows XP Home Edition : 5 simultaneous file-sharing connections ( Windows 95,98, ME do not have a known limit of simultaneous file-sharing connections )<<< Is a webserver considered "file sharing"? Would this mean only 5 or 10 Internet users could access the server at any one time? Thanks, Duffy |

No, that applies to LAN connections.
Before you do this, does your ISP permit webservers on your plan? Might want to check that first. |

Thanks
That's what I thought but wanted to make sure.
I checked the TOS for my ISP and there is no statement on webservers whatsoever. So I have to assume I'm good to go. Duffy |
