I run XP and have installed SP2. When I turn on my computer and try to access Outlook Express I am unable to do so. My incoming Mail box changes to 127.0.0.1 instead of the correct mail.globalnet.co.uk. When I change the entry to the correct one everything works ok until I shut down and restart.
All my telephone support can do is change the entry as above and cannot suggest anything else. I have tried the cure suggested by the Microsoft support site, "Your Outlook Express Password is not retained in Windows 2000 or XP". This only provides a cure until I shut down. Any suggestions? Puzzled Scot

Do you have an antivirus that has a mail scan? Try disabling it and see if server settings are retained. If so check to see if the antivirus s/w has an update to correct the issue.
