$79 for XP Pro!

In case you missed it, Newegg has a special deal running on the Academic Upgrade version of Windows XP Pro with SP2. This usually sells for $84 - $87. You need to be a college student or teacher to qualify. At checkout you'll need to entire your student id # and the name of your school. You'll also need an earlier version of Windows either installed or on a cd in order to install this upgrade version. Great price - if you qulaify.

I really didn't take enough advantage of student pricing when I was in school. Oh well, too late now.

That's because while you're in school you don't have any money to take advantage of the discounts .

The funny thing is that schools brag about all of the low-priced software and hardware they carry in their bookstores... but newegg is still always cheaper! Here they carry the academic xp pro upgrade for $100, same as two other universities I know of. And of course the hardware on newegg is always unquestionably cheaper.

Do they always have that in stock or is it only there temporarily?

The academic discounts are always available but this is the lowest price I've seen on XP Pro. Usually it runs $84 - $87.
