Blank screen with cursor Win xp home
Quick question on windows xp home. When the comp is turned on, instead of going to the windows logo screen, a blank screen with the cursor is as far as the system will load. If you restart with the win xp disk in the cd drive, everything starts normal.
Could this be a bad sector on the HD or possibly should the windows xp OS be re-installed? Or neither. Any suggestions would be appreciated. asiagirl |

have you added any software or made any changes before this started ? |

The only item that has been added was the cd rom drive about 2 months ago. No other additions or new software. Just out of the blue it starts the blank screen.
