Win XP Pro and USB 2.0 troubles

For some reason my USB 2.0 won't work, XP just tells me that it would be better if I used a 2.0 port. All 6 of my ports are 'supposed' to be 2.0. I have SP 1 and 2 installed and tried updating each USB line in device manager manually. I am running an Asus A7V8X-X. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to PC Mech,

check that USB 2.0 is enabled in BIOS. I know that on my board, the P4P800, you can disable USB 2.0, then all ports act like USB 1.1.
So maybe you have that option, too. It should be USB 2.0 and HighSpeed.

In BIOS I only have two USB settings: USB Legacy support (Auto - Disabled - Enabled) and USB Controller (Enabled - Disabled) The bold ones are my current settings.
