Hi ash31279:
Firstly, you do not need the administrator password if you intend to do a fresh install of Windows - ie. removing everything that was there previously. Secondly, this site will not provide you with information on how to acquire the administrator password. We can, of course, help you with getting started on your windows XP installation. To get started, you will need to get your PC to boot from the XP CD. You will have to go into the BIOS and set your CDROM as the first boot device. (If you need further information on how to change your BIOS settings, just post back here with more information on your computer). Alternately, you can make XP Boot disks on floppies, you may download them from here: Windows XP Professional bootdisks or Windows XP Home bootdisks. The downside is that they require 6 floppies. Please note that your computer may still not boot from floppies, unless it is told to do so from the BIOS. It is highly recommended that you boot from the CD. This site has comprehensive step-by-step instructions and images on what to expect from your installation. http://www.blackviper.com/Articles/OS/OSguides.htm |

I'm sorry ash31279, but we cannot support illegal software on this forum. Please read the Rules: http://forum.pcmech.com/rules.php . I can understand your frustration, but if you are entitled to the operating system then you should have received the original media along with a valid CD key/serial number. Otherwise you have no choice but to purchase a legal copy of the operating system. By not transferring the license and the media to you, you have essentially bought a computer without the operating system - if this is not the terms of the purchase, then you need to contact the person you bought the system from.
If you have any further questions about this issue, please feel free to contact me or any of the other moderators by PM. Thanx for understanding. |
