Font in Outlook Express

Greetings,
This problem occurs on all 4 of my units.
once I initially set the font, that is it!
I have tried in vain to change the font style and size.
Have attempted it through: Tools/Options/Compose and the General/Accesability tab in internet options.
Short of reinstalling, any ideas?

I found the problem.
I had a stationary background that was formated with a certain font face.
When you create a background you lock in on a font style. The only way to change it is to lose the stationary background.
So I created a new background with the font I wanted.
