'system' file corrupt
I hope I got the right forum for this. But it appears my system file is corrupt on another machine.
It was located under \windows\system32\config\system I was trying to copy another working system file from another computer but it didn't accept it. I have tried searching for a system replacement file from the internet, but I don't seem to be getting favorable results. Is there a place where I can download the 'system' file from the internet. Or should I just bite the bullet and re-install?? (complete with hours of microsoft patches and upgrades )

Have you considered trying a repair-install?

a repaire install will repaire all the system files back to normal and leave the data intact.
but you will need to reinstall all service packs and update patches you had on it, as they will be removed. |
