hello. I was wondering if you could tell me how to make it so my XP pro boots to the welcome screen where it shows the users to click on. Currently i have two users, but it always just boots to the desktop, when i log off i get the option to switch users and then it shows the other user. I have been to the user account control panel and it looks as though i've got everything checked off that should be. Anyways, thanks for your help.

This sounds like a case of SP2 enabling the AutoAdminLogon. I wouldn't bother with the user accounts but check the values on the Admin String Values

There is a nice Powertoy: Tweak ui that you can download from microsoft site and will allow you to easily change those options.

i think maybe i didn't say my story right.....see what's happening is that it DOES NOT go to the welcome screen and it DOES automatically logon for me, i don't want that to happen. thank you anyways though, and sorry for not being clear.
