recover admin password

Well I was about to recover my main machine today (in sig) last week my system file was corrupted (so windows won't boot up, even in safe mode).

It doesn't want to accept my admin password when I go through the recovery option (perhaps I even forgot it but I thought I had it nailed).

Either way is there a way I can recover my admin password? I can bring the HDD to another xp machine and view it's contents. Also it is loaded just the way I want it and don't feel like reformatting for now, (may eventually).
