Cool

Why not just open the Recycle Bin folder on desktop and then open and select Restore for each file or folder you want back.

You can also access "Sytem Restore" by going to "Start">"Help & Support"...a link to System Restore is there.

Regarding you question, System Restore can be used for low level roll back of your system if something corrupts you Operating system such as a bad software install. In general, it is NOT a good recovery tool for "Data"...i.e. if you install a new program & then restore back to a previous date, the new install will be gone.

I think, judging from your question, you are trying to recover a file that you deleted. This is simple to do using the "Recycle Bin". Click on the "Recycle Bin", and browse to the file you want to restore...right click on the file...and select "Restore". This will move the file out of the recycle bin, back to it's original location. This a much more direct way of restoring a deleted file, as opposed to using the "System Restore" function.

Hope this helps!

If this is the case, I don't believe it does. You will need data recovery software, and that's not even a sure thing.

very very thank to all opinions and suggestions, any where my real point here is:

support i had done something to the computer, until i cant log in to window, and now i need to restore the system back, which is allow me to login again.

for Example: window98 have a function of restore back ur system if current system got problem until cant login to window. support i do something at window at 16/12/2004, until i cant login window again, Now i can restore back the system at bios by date 14/12/2004 ( this date is example). after restore, now i can login to window.

what i want to know now is how to apply this restore funtion at windowXP? i had try using the same procedure like window98 does, but it now work.

eksf81...I not flamin ya here, but you need to decribe what your Real problem is when you make a post in the future. We thought you were wanting to access "System Restore"...and then "Recover" a deleted file...when it turns out you have a "Login" problem.

A login problem is very different than restoring a deleted file...first off I don't think a system restore will recover your login problem...and you haven't told us what the login problem is.

1. Have you forgotten your password?
or
2. Is your problem that the login screen does NOT appear?

Be specific on what your login problem is, & you'll get better advice.

side note: You asked "how to apply this restore funtion at windowXP?"...in a couple of post above we told you how to access "System Restore"...all you have to do from there is pick a previous date to roll back to...then "OK" to roll it back. This ain't gonna work for you since You have to "Login to Windows" first to access System Restore. I don't know what you are refering to when you say what you did with Win98...since Win98 does NOT have "System Restore"...perhaps you were using a third party SW like "Go Back".

If you do a forum search of your specific login problem i.e. "Lost Password" or "Login Problem"...you will find a ton of post on those subjects.
