win 98 - need help with drivers

Heres the deal. I have two computers at home, one with XP Pro and one running 98 SE. I just replaced the Windows XP computers mobo and processor and video card, etc. So I took my mobo that I used to have in the xp machine and decided to put it in the machine running win98.
(Windows 98 had been running with an intel board and was pentium 2, the old xp board is intel board with pentium 3. )
Anyways I am so very spoiled rotten by wonderful XP being so super easy to deal with as far as drivers and such go, that I forgot that Win98 ISN'T!! I put my Pentium 3 with its better/more ram and the video card that it had used when it was in my xp machine and the cd/r drive, and then used the hard drive running on the 98 machine and put the whole thing together.
Well.....I don't have the windows 98 cd and now I have problems. It won't recognize the cd or floppy drive and when I boot it finds a bunch of hardware. Then it asks me for certain files -- some of which I was able to find within the c:\windows\system 32\inf or other similar hard drive location - But there are a bunch that I cannot locate somewhere on my hard drive. And Like i said I don't have the cd.
Then if I tell it to skip the file just to move on with things, when it gets done finding hardware and asking me for files, it tells me to reboot.....which only starts the whole deal over again!!!

Anyways I used to have a decent handle on the whole 98 operating system but I am so used to XP that I am, now at a loss

Can anyone help me ??(By the way, I am at work now so I can't tell you exactly what files or which hardware at this moment...but if you need that info can get it when i get home...)

Check to see if your Win98 CAB files are in the C:\WINDOWS\OPTIONS\CABS directory (if it exists).

Refer to the ENUM sticky thread in the Tips and Tricks forum. If you can't find the cab files, you WILL need to borrow a 98SE CD to do this - and probably move that hard drive temporarily into your XP machine to copy the cab files off the CD onto it - there is no CD access in Win98 in safe mode - OR normal mode till the IDE controllers reinstall.
