Xp install problem

I am trying to install xp on a seagate sata harddrive. when i get to the start up and press f6 to load the sata drivers nothing happens and it continues to load from the cd. I have tried two different keyboards and no luck.
any ideas why it wont recognize when i push f6?

When you push F6, nothing happens. You will notice the difference a bit later during setup, when Windows asks you where to install XP to. You will be able to load the drivers at that point. Without pressing F6 you will only get an error message.
But at the moment you push F6, you won't get any response from XP Setup.

It's just like PATA. For native ports, you don't need drivers (with a few exceptions), for ports that belong to an extra controller, you do.
