where are my Windows XP USB drivers?

My wifes computer had so much spyware embedded in the registry that I took it in and had Windows XP Pro replaced with Windows XP Home and had her hd reformatted. She has no USB drivers...where can I download the latest drivers?

Can you be more specific, please? Exactly what tells you that there are no drivers? Are there any flagged devices in device manager, and what is listed under USB Controllers? WinXP with *no* service packs supports USB just fine but you *might* need a patch from your motherboard manufacturer. Can you give us the motherboard manufacturer and model?

There are NO USB controllers listed in device manager. It is a 800 mhz AMD Athlon, with, I believe, a Gigabyte board, but I can't remember! How can I tell what board I have?

If there are no controllers listed, I'd bet that they are disabled in the bios. Whoever did the work for you probably disabled them to do the install and forgot to re-enable them.

If it's an Award bios, look in Integrated Peripherals.

Got the motherboard manual? If not, just keep looking or call the shop that did the work and ask them.
