Question EMS Driver?

I installed an MS DOS based program on a computer with Windows 95 as its operating system. When I tried to run the program, it said, "no ems driver found". I uninstalled the program and then went to the Config.sys file and opened it with Notepad. I deleted the phrase, "NOEMS" and restarted the computer. Following this, I re-installed the program and tried to run it. The computer then said, "Program caused divided overflow error". I would like to know, "What's up?"

Where you deleted "noems", replace it with "ram".

Question Not working

Well, I tried what you said and this is what happened: After I typed in "ram", I tried running the program and the same screen came up saying, "Program caused divide overflow error. If the problem persists, contact the vendor." If it wasn't that, then it was a plain black screen. I tried running the program through the MS DOS Prompt as well as by restarting the computer in MS DOS mode. Nothing seemed to work. Do you have any other suggestions?

What is the speed of your processor? You may need to use software to slow it down.

CPUKill (591.68KB)
A simple slowdown utility for Windows. This thing can help you a lot when games are going too fast. It's very easy to use, you just have to select how much percent of its speed your computer is gonna use.

Smile Further questions (???)

It's a 500 MHZ processor. I made a mistake when I said that the computer had a Windows 95 operating system. It is actually Windows 98. But, I did try running the program on another computer with Windows 95. The same things happened. Anyway, about the slowdown, will it affect the rest of the computer as well? Also, how do you do it? Is the information in the link you gave or not? Just as a note, the computer that I am working on running that program is not connected to the internet. Will that be a problem? Thanks!

Just download it and put it on a floppy to copy it to the computer in question - when you run it, you choose how much to slow the computer down. Do that, then try to run the program in a dos window.

There is a distinct possibility that the program is so old that it will not run on Win9x's flavor of DOS at all.
