looks like yet another atempt to force us into upgrading to xp. But if i was someone that had nothing but 2k I would wait til longhorn to upgrade and skip xp.

There's nothing wrong with 2000 SP4. In fact, if you don't have it installed, it would be a good idea to do so.

2000 is a good, stable O/S for general use. XP is oriented towards multimedia, and there is a significant performance difference between the 2 O/S's in the aspect.

If you're waiting for longhorn, you're going to be waiting for a few years...

It's also no big deal to keep up with the post-SP4 hotfixes - they are going to be putting them out for quite a while longer. Just look at how long M$ has been putting out post-SP6 hotfixes for NT4. MOST updates are to take care of IE issues, not core OS issues anyway - without IE the OS itself would be quite secure.
