Is it possible to set privledges in XP-Home Edition? The only options I see is either Administrator or very Limited. I'm trying to allow other users to have access to check their mail and download software they need, but not have access to the main windows settings. It appear that all they can do as currently set up is to change their desktop.

I'm pretty sure those are your only options in XP Home.

I belive that is all you will have if your useing fat32 file system, you should have more choices if you convert to ntfs file system, it allows more security options.

For what its worth, you might be able to get away with setting some sort of "Security Policies" or "Group Policies" without using AD.
Run "mmc" and see what snap-ins you can use relating to Security Mike |
