IRQL - Less than or Not Equal too ?

Hello, and thanks for reading.

Last night before going to bed, I left my computer running, and thought I would be able to finish a download while I was asleep. It was a 9 GB download, I'm getting Star Trek Voyager Season 3. Anyway...When I woke this morning, I got a strange message saying Windows encounted some kind of error and shut down to prevent any damage.

I have never seen this error message before, not sure if I remembered it correctly, but I was wondering if I should be concerned. Does it mean my PSU is going out? Did something get to hot? Should I get another heatsink or fan on my CPU or my graphics card ?

I dont think I have any programs that could tell me the temp, I guess I could reboot real quick and take a look in the BIOS.

If anyone has any answers or suggestions, please feel free to reply.

Sincerly, puzzled.

Thanks.

also a bad stick of ram can cause it .

Ah, so then, the first thing I should do is try to run MemTest? Or do you recomend a different program?

I was looking at upgrading my memory next month anyway, wanting to get 2 1 gig sticks and was going to give this memory and motherboard to my daughter for her computer, she's currently using an AMD 533.

Error found with word pair # 41343682 or 41343631

(either could be the source)

Another found with pair # 39472783 or 39472520

Pairs 30347879 or 30347427

So these are problems with software or the ram chips themselves?

If you are overclocking, return all the settings back to stock speeds. If you still get the memory errors, contact Kingston and get your memory replaced - it has a lifetime warranty.

Oh, I didn't know that. I may have at one time, but completely forgot.

I was overclocking my video card, but that shouldn't bother my memory any. I havn't changed any of the speeds on my processor or memory.

Are they going to ask for some kind of reciept? I don't have any.

I'll send them an email or something and see what happens.
