I have been trying to hide an icon from the task bar using the task bar and start menu. I select customize, then hide always and apply, which works OK.
But when i reboot computer next time the icon is in view again and it has changed to hide when inactive. Is there a way to prevent this change taking place? |

Local area connection, i have already been through the process of trying to remove it permanently and cannot so i thought i would try and hide it always as it sits in view in the tray
with a red cross across it.

Right click on My Network Places and select properties->right click on Local Area Connection and select properties (see pic)

If you aren't using the network adapter, disable it in device manager, then the disconnected icon will not come up.
