When i accidently installed SP2 the first time, i realized that it sucked, so i went to the add/remove programs menu and deleted it there, but, being that its pre installed, i dont think that will work. If you can, try to find a patch that deletes it, and replaces it with SP1

If you are installing SP2 on a new system with a blank hard drive, it generally works pretty well. You probably won't wind up with the mess that often occurs when you upgrade an existing system. If you are trying to install XP on an older system, of course there may be issues, but there will be issues trying to install baseline or SP1 XP anyway - if the bios is dated prior to 2000 and/or your hardware is not all on the compatibility list you are playing with fire.
