reformat reinstall
I am selling my old computer and would like to clean the hardrive. I assume the best way to do this is to reformat your hardrive using the windows disk recovery counsel. The recovery counsel requires the administrator pw, but my computer does not accept the one I set in xp. Is there any other way to reformat the drive so i can give the person a clean HD without deleting everything on my own?
I have read that you can delete the windows partion and reinstall windows that way, but will that clean the HD Sorry if this is a double post. |

If you have a utlility that came with your particular harddisk, you can do it that way also. Most people don't now whether you have anything on it or not when you delete the partition, so it is safe to do it that way and forget about it...

Stick it on a boot floppy, boot with it, delete all partitions. Instant blank hard drive, takes 15 seconds. |
