Faster Shutdown

About 2 weeks ago my wife casually remarked that she wished her computer would shutdown faster. I wasn't doing anything so I started looking around the internet and found a tip somewhere that said you could speed up the shutdown process by making some kind of change but for the life of me I can't remember what I did. I remember changing a number from like 3000 to 300 or there abouts. Anyway, I made the change on her computer and she said that she thought it did speed up the shutdown process. A few minutes latter I made the same change to my computer. I can't really see any big difference but it does seem to shutdown a little faster. (This is only an impression, no timing involved). We are both running XP Pro. Can anyone tell me what I did. I try to keep a link to any changes I make to my computer but this time I failed to keep the source of the tip. It could have come Steve's tips at World Start.Com but I can't find it in the archives. I also checked the PCMechanic tips that we get every day and couldn't find it there either. Help!!

I second glc words, if it's a trade secret you won't be getting this piece of information.
Have a nice day.
