Irremovable desktop icons (XP)
Didn't know where to post this. Something from the internet put 7 icons on my desktop (website hosting, travel, casino, card games, etc.) and I can't move or delete them. The menu doesn't even appear when I right-click it. I've run ad-aware and AVG virus programs, but I can't get rid of them. What do I do?

Right click on your desktop, and put mouse over the 'arrange icons by', and then another menu should appear that will have an option that says "Lock Web Items On Desktop", I'll bet yours is checked, and if so just uncheck it, then you should be able to rid of those pesky little icons.. Chances are there is much more that was installed on your PC though, like some spyware programs. You may want to check for those too, as they will hog up resources if they are running all the time..
