Question On Dual Booting

Hi I had a problems today, where I lost all data on my man "D" drive, then my "C" drive crashed. I had an error that said disk failed and to insert system disk. So I put in Western digital utilities and finished doing an error check on both drives which came up "No errors found". I'm also writing zero to the drive and then going to reinstall both systems. The probem I had with it last time is this. I had Win 2000 installed on "D" and Win XP on "C", but when you booted it didn't bring up a boot loader, with the option on which system to go to. When I went to my computer and clicked on the "D" drive it said it was not formated. So I'm trying to figure what had originally happened, and what to do to make sure the too systems will show up during my reinstall. I assume again load Win 2000 first then XP second....

load Win 2000 first then XP second is all you "should" have to do.

Have another question.. Now that each drive had zeros written to them and passed all test, how come when installing Win 2000 it would install it to "D" first instead of "C"?? I find that weird, because there is nothing on "C" yet..

Disconnect the drive you don't want to use till Windows is installed, then reconnect it.
