Pissed Outlook Express gets in the way of Messenger Service

I recentely got a new Dell with Windows XP It came with Outlook Express 6 and windows messenger 4.7. In the past My messenger service would take me automadically to my hotmail account and it was connected that way. Now when I try to get my e-mails it opens Outlook express. In the options for messenger there is no option to pick where you get your e-mails from. And in outlook express the default option uses outlook through messenger to retreive my e-mails with the option to change, unchangeable. It wont let you click on the change option or unchange the default option. What the heck can a person do?

Messenger 4.7 that comes with either version of XP is not the same as the internet IM version, it is meant to IM people on your home/office LAN. I always remove it for people and then recommend they download messenger 6.2 if they want to use the IM feature.
To uninstall windows msn messenger 4.7 in XP
copy and paste the entire script below into the run box and press OK
restart your machine and the dreaded 4.7 will be gone.

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
