Hit CTRL, ALT and DEL to bring up the Windows Security box and click on Task Manager and then the Processes tab.

Either do what Cricket suggested, or right click on the windows taskbar > task manager.

Thanks Force...didn't know about that one. Much less effort to get the same results.

I use WinPatrol here http://www.winpatrol.com/ it works pretty good, it also advises you when new programs are being installed and if you want to accept them/it.

Process Explorer for Windows is another great piece of freeware that will give you detailed info on the processes running on your system.

It also allows you to run it in the place of Windows XP's built-in Task Manager.

Hey Cricket, man i know you're one of the best to help those who are in need. But this time you made a little just a little mistake, i think you're talking about Windows 2000 OS. So that the Win Security Box Comes out.. For Win XP the Task Manager comes out immediately after hitting those 3 keys at the same time.

In Win2K you can directly get to the task manager with ctrl+shift+esc and I believe this also works with XP.
