Do I have to login to shutdown?
When I start Windows 2000 the ctrl-alt-del prompt is the first thing to be displayed.
Once pressed I then have a dialog to enter my username and password. There is a button to allow you to shutdown the computer without logging in but it is disabled. Does anyone know how to enable this button? It's a pain sometimes having to login to shutdown. Cheers DJ |

Edit the local policy .. go to START > RUN > gpedit.msc and click OK
Navigate to the following section by pressing the plus beside the values Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Security Options (select this). Scroll down to: Shutdown: Allow system to be shut down without having to log on and double click it. Change it to ENABLED. |
