Windows not starting properly

About a week ago almost every time I start my computer a black screen comes up and says windows is not starting properly and asks to run normally or in safe mode. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem may be?

That is a very broad question on a limited amount of info.

What O/S are you running?

Have you installed any new hardware or software recently?

you might try going into safe mode then check the device manager to see if there is any problems there.
