Im such a fool with no sound, please help!
Ok, Hears the story I got a new computer set up fine and all working ok until i went on the web with out any anti virus. My comp then started crashing alot and would not restart. Foolishly I did not back up anything and was not given an XP media edition disc as part of the package when I bought the comp.
Xp Media edition was already loaded on the hardrive from pakardbell. So I got hold of a standard home edition of XP now everything is fine and I have anti-virus now but now I have no sound. Audio device properties shows that the audio is working but does not show location or name of the driver. Can anyone help |

Go to the manufacturer's website and download the audio driver for your system. Then find the audio in your Device Manager. Remove it. Reboot and when XP finds new hardware, point it to the driver you downloaded. (make sure it's not in a .zip file, open it if it is a .zip)
