XP wont shut the computer down
I just installed XP on an older computer 466 Mhz Celeron 256MB and all went well except the computer doesn't shut down when I hit the close windows buton. It just shuts down to an XP emblem but doesnt actually shut the comp down. I had ME on the computer before and it always shut down okay and switched the computer off but now it doesn't. and yes, its an ATX mobo.
It is not a big problem but if there is an easy fix please let me know. Its XP professional edition but I haven't installed service pack 2 cos I heard that it has lots of problems. Thanks guys

Go into control panel, power options, APM tab - and check the box to use advanced power management.
