need to block access to my usb hard drive
I have a hard drive that I use for backups, and so it has somewhat personal info on it. I am wondering if there is a way that I can put a simple password protect on it that will make the contents and file names unviewable to the average person. Encryption is overkill, and takes WAY toooooo long for 120GB, especially over usb. I use the drive on several of my computers, so it would be best if it were a stand-alone kind of program that wan't integrated into just one of the computers.
Oh yeah. Freeware/shareware is best, as I am kinda a poor student. Anyone heard of this kind of application? I know that they must exist, I just remember searching on dialup for hours and not finding any freeware. thank you for your reply!

so I found a lexar )made for jump drive) utility, but it requires format of the drive, which is not OK.
Even if the program made the whole drive unnaccessable, that would be fine. |
