Rename Short file names in Windows ME
I have a customers machine who's Windows ME installation was currupt. It had been about 3 years since the OS was installed so decided it was time to re-install. Unfortunately, I could not boot the machine to save critical data so I had to do it in a DOS envirnment. I have just copied back the data to the newly installed OS, but it has short file names. Is there a way to revert back or will we have to manually rename every document. Thanks

I think the damage has been done and you will have to re-enter manually.

Yeah we have had to rename individual files, but it's all good. Thanks
