Canon Toolbox for scanners

Has anyone had problems with the Canon scanner Toolbox program in XP after loading service pack 2?

Are you needing to know if it's ok to install SP2 or are you having an issue you need help with?

Its an issue I have a problem with.

I did a clean install of XP pro and loaded SP2. I connected my Canon N670U and loaded driver and software. When I went to use the Canon Toolbox program to scan, message displayed saying there was an invalid file but it did not say which one. It had been okay prior to SP2. Ihave loaded the new drivers and Toolbox version but to no avail. The scanner works okay with other software.

I have an old Canon 650U (basically same as your 670U). I used it originally with 98, and when I got XP, I downloaded the new drivers from Canon. Now using it on a new build with XP Home, sp2, and it runs fine. Scanners have always been very temperamental, and I'd recommend you completely clean your system of any traces of the scanner and toolbox, then try a clean install. Follow Canon's instructions, I've had a few failed installs trying my usual shortcuts.
