Remember folder view settings

I can't for the life of me remember how to fix this.

It seems there are a set number of folders whose view settings are remembered and right now my most viewed folders keep losing their settings. There has to be an option somewhere, probably in the registry, to up the amount of folder settings saved. TIA

Open up the registry editor by clicking the Start button > Run. Type "regedit" without quotes. First, Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software > Microsoft > Windows > Shell. Right click on "Shell", the follow to "new" > "DWORD Value" Name this item "BagMRU Size" without quotes. Double click on this new DWORD value, and give it a decimal value of 2000, then click OK. Next, navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software > Microsoft > Windows > ShellNoRoam. Follow the same procedure you used to create the DWORD value under Shell. Right click on ShellNoRoam, created a new DWORD value named "BagMRU Size" and set the decimal value to 2000. Power users may want to set both numbers to 8000.

This tweak is fixed in SP2 by setting this value to a default of 5000.

Awesome. I had the values there but they were only at 600. Thanks, I'll definately save this for next time. Thanks so much, it was starting to get aggrevating.
