Formatting ME

Hi Guys,

I have started to format my Windows ME PC. I have got as far as creating a new partition using Fdisk, however I cannot for the lfie of me remember the command that I need to use to format the drive before re-installing ME. I know on XP you can format from the disk and with Windows 98 you can use the format c: /s code but neither of these work with ME

Anybody any ideas?

Cheers

Chopper

It works like with Windows 98. You use format C:
When you booted from CD, you probably have to switch to the subfolder winme, or win9x or whatever it is called in ME. In Windows 98, the subfolder was \win98, and you needed to be in there to execute the format command.

there's another way. create a bootable floppy disk from a win xp/98 system. boot from it and do the formatting. format c: /s (system files) /q(quick format) etc.... then install ME

Boot with the ME cd, and start setup. It will see that the partition is not formatted and format it for you.
