xp gone wild

Well my computer was hit twice with power switch off when my break box switch flipped off. I do not know if it has anything to do with my issue but i stated it...i woke up a few days ago to a error stating c:\system32 was either missng or corrupted but following the recovery console i managed to restore and rid that msg now i can get into xp... the only issues were
1.drivers were missing
2.software was missing
3.system restore dates were gone
4.defrag doesnt work
5.firewall doesnt work
6.antivirus real protection doesnt work
7.rundll32 generates errors when i try to modify the desktop
8.runtime errors
9.rpc server errors
10.event logger showed a 'bad block' error twice on harddiskd...though my harddrives are running well...
i do not know what to do now, should i reinstall xp and just move everything to my bigger harddrive? Can i reuse my xp installation disk?

The best thing to do is reinstall your OS. Reformat your hard drive or maybe zero fill it. Try if you can backup important files. After installing your OS, install your security apps., then scan your backup of your files for viruses and spywares.

You have probably damaged your hard drive. This can easily happen when the power goes off when the drive is trying to read/write. Run manufacturer's diagnostics on it.

ran hd diagnostics there were no error reported. I have reinstalled xp on my smaller drive so i didn't have to back up anything and i wasn't too mad since the activation wasn't a pain...last time when my boot sector messed up and i reinstalled the lady wanted me to give her the story of my life :\ ...so yeah i will make sure my computer is turned off right and kept from being affected by breaker probs....and i do not have sp2
