Xp keeps on freezing! Help!

ok. i succesfully installed windows xp now. it was all fine until i used it for a few hours. it froze. i restart the system, then it frezzes after a minute or two. i reset it but it keeps on freezing. whats the problem with it.

in case your wondering, no service packs have been installed on it coz it keeps on freezing! sp1 isnt on it either coz its an early edition of xp.

ok then

amd athlon 64 socket 939
asus a8v deluxe mobo
120 gb wd sata hdd
6600gt nvidia gfx card
512 (2 x 256) pc 3200 ddr 400 ram

is that enough? coz the rest are like modems, tv tuners and network cards.

i dunno. the psu some wierd brand, but its 500 watts. but cpu temps i dont know at all

maybe your system is overheating. is your CPU overclocked? overclocking increases CPU temp. your system is far good enough for windows xp.

You can check your CPU temps in your BIOS. I don't remember off the top of my head in which menu; check your motherboard manual. I'll post back if I can get the manual to download (Asus site slow).
