No sys power unless HD is unplugged!!!
New system,
When I hit power the fans turn 1/4 then stop, nothing else happens. The only thing that works is the LED on the front of the case. I found that if i had the HD power cable off and hit the power button everything started to boot, I held in the power switch before it had a chance to really take off. Specs: New Stuff: ASRock mobo, AMD chip, two 256 memory chips, cd/dvd, replaced thin IDE cables with round to eliminate as a problem. Replaced power supply before I had tried the HD trick.

Sounds like a shorted hard drive to me.
