XP freeze

I had reason to use XP home disc, on my computer yesterday, but ran into a problem. I loaded XP and then went to 'repair' on the menu. All went well until I got to 'the procedure entry point getIUMS could not be located in the dynamic link library MSDART.DLL.' When I pushed OK the repair installation frooze. The only option I had was to shut down the computer. When I started the computer again it showed, setup is being reinstalled.but the installing got as far as 'the procedure........' and then frooze. Is there a way I can overcome this problem, delete something or what? Any help is welcome.
Thanks, webbie
P.S. I have tried safemode.

You receive the error message "UNREGMP2.EXE - Entry Point Not Found -" when you upgrade or repair Windows XP
