Windows Virtual Memory Too Low

Every time I'm on my computer a baloon comes up saying "windows virtual memory is too low...." It does this once every time I'm on my computer (meaning when I restart it, it happens again). NOw I know what this means, but how can I fix it. Either I could take away the pop up, or if thers a way to set up a space for virtual memory. Also, I don't know why this happens. On my older computer, with only 300mb (this one has 1024 mb), I never get this message, dispite doing the same sort of stuff. I'd expect I'd need virtual memory, but should this message come up every day? Thanks.

What are your current pagefile settings, and how much free space is on your system partition? Are you virus and spyware free?

Start>right click My Computer>Properties>Advance tab>Settings button under Performance>Advanced tab>Change button under Virtual Memory at the bottom. See if the Page File is set as System Managed or Custom. Min should be 1.5 x installed memory and Max should be 3 x installed memory. Some folks prefer min set to the same as max (3x). I prefer the first setting with the Page File on a separate partition. Less fragmentation of the C:\ drive.

I had the same problem and I had over 100gb free. I just set custom page file settings. I believe minimum was set to something close to 400 mb, might be a little different on your rig. After I did this I have had no problem with it.

If you have a gig of ram, set the pagefile minimum and maximum to 1536.
