I lost my file details
I'm using Windows XP Home with SP 2 installed. Just the other day I tried to "tweak" my system a bit by followind the instructions on this site. Optimize XP and I lost something that I liked.
I can't figure this one out. Earlier, when I would open a folder, there was information on the left of the new window with details for the selected file, a thumbnail if it was a photo, some links for where to place or copy the file. I unistalled XP-Antispy, then installed it again and unchecked every box hoping it would be one of those options, but no luck. I tried looking in the Folder Options, but couldn't find anything there. I can't remember where the option was to turn this on and off. I don't have any other users on this computer, so I can't check to see if it happened for anyone else.

Right Click My Computer on your desktop and select "Properties" (or double click the System icon in your Control Panel) and navigate to the Advanced tab. Here click on the Settings button and make sure that the option to "Use Common Tasks in Folders" in the list below has a check mark against it. If it does not, check the box and then click Apply, then OK.

Got it checked, thanks! I was messing around with that section the other day, and I think I took it off not realizing what it was for.
I set the button for let windows do what it thinks is best. I may go in there and take some things off later, but only after I find out what they are for first.
