1324 error - removing HP drivers.
I got a partial install on HP drivers for the 7100 series all in one. I can't re-install them because the installer says I already have a program. The uninstall link isn''t on the program icon list. When I try to uninstall from "add/remove programs" I get a 1324 error . Any ideas on how to get rid of the partial install?

Read a little further. You need to run the cleanup utility.

There is no way to get the clean-up utility. When you go to the download section it brings you back to the start page. I searched for the utility on HP and discussed it with there tech support.

Put the CD in the drive. Dismiss the autorun.
Click Start, click Run, and then type in the following and then press Enter: (CDROM Drive letter)\Setup\Uninstaller\(ENU for English, ESN for Spanish, PTG for Portuguese, etc...)\hposcr01.exe -datfile hpoins08.dat |

Did that this morning. I get the same 1324 error. I was think of doing a windows restore. Would that fix the problem? I assume I would lose all the programs I installed since the last restore point. But I don't know where else to go with this. THanks.

System restore sounds like a good option. You won't lose any data, but all programs installed since the restore point will probably have to be reinstalled.

Thanks glc.
I'm going to try the system restore tonight and see how it goes. Hopefull, I haven't loaded too much since the last one. From now on I am going to set a restore point before program install. |

OK. So the system restore did allow me to re-install the software. However, the re-install did the exact same thing!
I repeated it several times - I tried to install from the disc, download drivers from their website and install through their "active-x" installation. All incomplete all unable to be removed or installed over and all fixed with a system restore. However, still not able to load drivers. With the disc install I did get an error message for not able to load Java Virtual Machine. Any idieas? |

That's the latest Sun Java VM. Download and install it. |
