Quick XP setup question!

I have a MESH computer which has XP on a MESH RECOVERY CD. I have formatted and installed XP on this MESH computer loads of times. Fine.

I just made a computer and wanted to use the recovery CD to put XP on it. It will boot to the setup, format the drive and then when it starts copying installation files it might say it can't access one and I have to keep retrying until it does. Then it will go to a blue screen of death and I can do nothing but restart the process...

Would this CD be locked to MESH only computers?

I'm sure I have installed it on another non-mesh computer before :s

This CD is for use on that computer and that computer only, using it to install the operating system it contains on any other computer is in violation of Microsoft's EULA.

Ok,thanks...

But when they say the computer has WinXP, shouldn't they have to state that it is only for that computer? When I bought it I assumed I would get a proper XP home as that is what I paid for, but I get a crusty recovery cd that prevents me using it on an upgraded computer

Thanks for the reply. MESH sucks

Preinstalled versions of XP are dedicated to that machine only. It's part of the EULA as rjfvillarosa has stated. You DID get what you paid for. You just can't use it on another computer, that's all.

Any software CD, unless otherwise stated on the label, is not shareware there for it can only be installed on one computer. In respect of XP or any other Microsoft operating system installation CD, it is one CD, one computer, simple as that.
