my pc shotdown rather then restart

my pc shotdown rather then restart ,what can i do?

I saw this on a pc that had software not compatible with XP.
Insert your XP cd and run the check compatibility test.
if it finds a program not compatible, remove it and check if the problem persists.

Can you give us a little more information ie: specifications of your machine and what OS you are using? also could you be a little more specific as to what is happening.
