Hudge prob

about 3 months ago my computer displayed this message

"FILE IS MISSING OR CORRUPT windows\SYSTEM32\CONFIG"

I could not fix it so i just installed another os copyied my filies and format the dirve reinstall windows.

the problem happend again so i installed windows and made a file for every thing i wanted to backup. that day i did not manage to complte it. i went to another house were i have cable internet. i started my secound windows and got this

"file is missing/corrupt
system32\drivers\isapnp.sys"

so i thought i would have to install another os.

but when i insert my windows xp recovery disk it starts up the disk

and says error 1380974592

in line 1768 xpsclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisk.c.

that requires me to use my windows xp cd

which if insert the it says press any botton to boot from cd

i press any botton

then i says detecting windoes config

the screen goes blue wiht white writing and starts to load the info off the boot disk

then says error 1380974592

in line 1768 xpsclient\base\boot\setup\arcdisk.c

Is the cd an original XP or OEM cd?

I would debug the hard drive. That will clear all partitions previously installed. Warning though...this will completely erase everything on the drive. Use this as a last resort. I use a 98 boot disk to perform this function. here is a link that will walk you through the process.

it is the recovory cd that fujisu gave wheni bought the computer

i tried it with pro recovory disk

and i got a error message from that as well

i made a boot disk and a boot floppy booth failed

the problem is when the recovery disk starts up

at the moments being able to format the comoutar would be good

I would not trust that debug script. If anything, use the hard drive manufacturer's utility to zero fill the drive.
