Where can I find XP's firewall?

Hey guys,

I've never had any issues relating to or had any trouble with the XP firewall, but out of curiosity, where can I find it? I'll take a guess, is it in Control Panel somewhere?

TIA..

Thanks PR

Still can't find it lol it's obviously an icon but it's not in the selection of icons in the Control Panel. I'm feeling more and more stupid as I type this post out

Do you have SP2 installed? If there's no SP2, there's no Windows Firewall.

Go to My Network Places, View Network Connections, and right click on your active connection. Select properties and then the advanced tab. You should see it.

It only comes up in the control panel after you install SP2, otherwise its buried.

Yes there is... it's just not as obvious to find as it's not in control panel. You have to go through as Hellfish described

I think that's only if SP2 has been installed already. I don't remember seeing the Windows Firewall icon before I installed SP2. Had to find it the way Hellfire described.

It was there but it sucked. You couldn't configure it for anything.

Thanks very much for all your replies! I don't have SP2 installed. HellFish was right. I found it when I right-clicked Internet Connection and then clicked Properties. It said Internet Connection Firewall. Thanks again!

How come you don't have SP2 installed yet?
